Are you ready for something different – a fresh challenge that’s both rewarding and inspiring?
At Isebrook School, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our school is home to over 250 incredible students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. We are committed to nurturing each student’s potential through a holistic, personalised approach – and we’re looking for a Class Teacher who shares that passion.
Whether you're an experienced EYFS practitioner ready to take your nurturing and play-based learning expertise into a specialist setting, or a dedicated teacher looking to grow in an inclusive, relationship environment – this could be the opportunity you’ve been searching for.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Class Teacher, you’ll work at the heart of a supportive and skilled multidisciplinary team, using the THRIVE approach to create emotionally safe, responsive, and engaging learning environments for students with complex needs. You will:
Design and deliver adapted, student-led learning experiences using curricula such as Equals, with a focus on preparing students for real-life skills and personal development.
Use Total Communication strategies (signs, symbols, visuals, and assistive technology) to help every student find their voice.
Create nurturing, play-based, and sensory-rich learning environments, making this an ideal role for someone with EYFS experience.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with children who may have experienced trauma or who struggle with social engagement.
Work collaboratively with therapists and support staff to ensure truly individualised learning pathways.
Who We’re Looking For
We want to hear from teachers who are:
Nurturing and resilient, with a genuine passion for SEND and emotional development.
Experienced or confident in Early Years approaches, with the creativity to adapt them for learners with additional needs.
Familiar with or willing to learn the Equals Curriculum or similar approaches that support informal or semi-formal learning.
Comfortable using and adapting Total Communication tools to meet diverse needs.
Relationship-focused, with a deep understanding of safeguarding and the unique needs of vulnerable children.
Flexible, creative, and open to using approaches such as THRIVE to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
We welcome applications from teachers who are seeking a meaningful and rewarding role in a specialist setting.
In Return, We Offer:
A welcoming, experienced, and collaborative staff team.
Ongoing professional development, including training in THRIVE, Equals, SoSafe and other specialist approaches.
A creative and nurturing environment where every small success is celebrated.
The opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of exceptional young people.
If you’re committed to inclusive education, ready to bring compassion and creativity to your classroom, and want to be part of a school that truly values connection, we would love to hear from you.
