Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

In September 2024, the Trust were delighted to open two new Speech and Language Specialist Resourced Base Provisions within our Canford Heath Infant and Junior School.
The MAT Trustees are looking to appoint a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant who is dedicated, compassionate, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our children.
We currently have a vacancy based at Canford Heath Junior School
32.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 4 pm (1 hour lunch)
Pay Grade: Grade F (12-17) £28,598 - £31,022 pro-rata
Actual Salary – £20,859.81 - £22,627.91

The TEACH Poole Multi Academy Trust was formed in April 2015. Ofsted has recently graded all four of our wonderful schools as good or outstanding. We are extremely popular, over-subscribed, forward-thinking schools with supportive staff and fantastic children.
The Resourced Base Provision caters for children of primary age (4-11), initially accommodating a maximum of 15 children across the two bases, with anticipated growth up to a maximum of 35 children over the next three years.
The post holder will be required to:
• Work under the guidance of a qualified therapist to assist in developing, implementing, and managing interventions for speech, language, communication, and behavioural needs. Deliver therapy sessions to pupils one-on-one, in groups, or as a whole class.
• Prepare and maintain therapy materials and equipment, including communication aids and visuals.
• Help deliver training for teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and families to enhance therapeutic support across the school.
• Work with class teams to implement therapy recommendations and provide supervision to Teaching Assistants who act as links between classrooms and the Therapy Department.
• Contribute to systems for tracking and recording pupils' academic and social progress. Support pupils in off-site activities to integrate therapy goals into real-life settings

Please note
As this is a term-time contract, salary is typically calculated on a pro-rata basis and paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. However, as this vacancy will be commencing partway through the summer term, the salary for the remainder of the current academic year will reflect the actual hours worked during this period and will be paid accordingly. From September onwards, the annual salary will be pro-rated in accordance with term-time hours and paid in 12 equal monthly instalments throughout the year.
