About this Role

SEN Class Room Teacher

Salary/Grade: MPR - UPR, £37,870 - £56,154 per annum, plus SEN allowance

Are you a teacher with good EYFS or KS1 experience? A rewarding new opportunity to support SEN learners is waiting for you!

Pentland Field is a vibrant school, making a real difference to the pupils we work with. Pupils make progress in all areas of life, becoming young adults who know their own value, and are active members of their local community. Pupils work in smaller classes (10-14 pupils) with helpful, friendly and skilled Teaching Assistants. Pupils and staff are well supported by onsite therapy teams.

We are an all-through school meeting the educational needs of around 175 children and young adults aged 4-19 with a range of learning disabilities, including those who may be have physical or sensory needs or may have an Autism diagnosis.

Staff at Pentland Field School are passionately committed to helping all pupils unlock their potential.  We are looking to appoint a new class teacher, who feels the same. We are looking for a September start but would be open to an earlier start for the right candidate.

We welcome qualified teachers who are at different stages of their career development. We are well positioned to help your grow professionally, with well-considered and effective staff induction and mentoring support in place. We encourage you to take a look at our school website here.

We can offer you:

  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • An approachable and knowledgeable leadership team
  • An informed, and hard-working staff community who are willing to share their knowledge and skills with anyone who has a desire to learn
  • A comprehensive induction programme for new staff, and access to continuous personal and professional development throughout your time in this school
  • A commitment to the wellbeing of staff, including staff led wellbeing initiatives, and free access to extensive health and wellbeing support. Some of these benefits can be applied to those in your household, at no cost to you
  • To be part of a dynamic special school multi-academy trust, with opportunities for career development
  • Excellent transport links, by road or public transport. The nearest underground station is a 5 min walk from the school, and you can be in central London within 20 minutes
