Pentland Field School, part of the

We are looking to appoint an Assistant
Head of School, with Departmental Responsibility. This is an exciting
opportunity for candidates seeking to develop their leadership career.
Pentland
Field has over 175 pupils aged 4-19, with a range of learning difficulties. Including
additional social, emotional and behavioural challenges. A significant proportion
of pupils have an Autistic Spectrum Condition, or present with more complex
social and communication difficulties. A small but significant group of pupils
have Higher Sensory Processing Needs.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and
enthusiastic Assistant Head of School to work as a crucial part of the school’s
leadership and management team.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Support the work of
safeguarding and child protection within across the school, by taking the role
of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Bring strategic
leadership to the school including to departments with
significant inspection responsibility, such as the Early Years or Post 16 provision
- Be operationally
responsible for such areas
- Ensure high quality
provision across the school, leading on areas of school development, as
identified by the Headteacher, which results in excellent outcomes for all
learners
- Contribute to the
strategic development of all parts of the school through active membership of
the school’s Senior Leadership Team
- Support the
Headteacher and Senior colleagues in the day-to-day operational management of
the school
- Carry out the
professional duties of a teacher, to include teaching a class or classes
(usually up to 0.5 of time in school)
- Have the teaching skill required to support
colleagues formally or informally through a cycle of learning observations,
feedback, modelling and coaching performance
- Undertake such
additional duties as are delegated by the Headteacher
The Eden Academy provides extensive opportunities
for aspiring leaders to become Assistant Heads, Deputy Heads, Heads of School
or Headteachers.
