About the Role: We are seeking a motivated, professional and solutions focused Premises Manager to lead the effective management of our school estate. The role combines strategic oversight with hands on teamwork to ensure our buildings, grounds and facilities are compliant, safe and well maintained.

Working closely with the Head and the Trust Estates Team, the Premises Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure statutory compliance, and maintain high standards of communication with all stakeholders, and organisation of team, workload and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support longer term planning and development of the school site.
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, site security, cleaning standards and the overall presentation of the school.
  • Manage contractors, service level agreements and scheduled works, maintaining safeguarding and compliance standards.
  • Manage procurement processes, obtain quotes, raise purchase orders and monitor expenditure.
  • Keep accurate electronic records of inspections, servicing, certificates and site checks.
  • Ensure full statutory and health & safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire safety, and documentation.
  • Lead and support the facilities and cleaning teams, promoting a collaborative and professional working culture.
  • Provide some hands on support with minor repairs, room setups and site tasks.
  • Promote sustainability, energy efficiency and continuous improvement across the estate.

 About You: We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly organised with excellent administrative, planning and time management skills.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with colleagues, contractors and school leaders.
  • Can balance strategic oversight with practical hand son support where required.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and maintaining high standards across the school environment.
  • Understands statutory compliance, health and safety requirements and risk management.
  • Has experience in facilities management, building maintenance or estate operations.

A background in facilities, estates or a relevant trade is advantageous. IOSH or NEBOSH training is desirable.
