Senior Arts Therapist

Further information: Working pattern includes 2 days 8:30-4:15pm and 1 day 8:30-4:30pm. Days of work flexible according to candidate choice but ideally would include Wednesday.
Location: Pentland Field School, Ickenham
The
Eden Academy Trust is a family of schools that specialise in meeting the
educational needs of children and young adults with a range of learning
disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical or
sensory needs.
We
are currently recruiting for a fixed term (maternity leave cover) senior arts
therapist to work for 3 days per week at Pentland Field School. Pentland Field
School is an all through school for children and young adults aged 4-19 with a
range of learning disabilities and includes a dedicated arts therapy room.
The
post will allow the successful candidate to develop clinical and leadership skills
within a school setting, whilst being fully supported by the Clinical Lead and
Service Manager. The post will initially be based at Pentland Field School for
the fixed term, though there may be a possibility for this to extend as The
Eden Academy Trust continues to grow.
The successful candidate will join a well established and supportive arts therapy team working across our schools, which is part of an evolving central services team comprising SaLT, OT, Physio and Family Services. Arts Therapies are highly valued and well integrated in our schools, with social and emotional support seen as integral to pupils accessing their education.

Successful
candidates will be:
·
A qualified arts therapist,
registered with HCPC
·
Experienced in working with children
and young people with learning disabilities, and/or in an education setting;
·
Experienced in
working as part of a multi-disciplinary team or with different professionals;
·
Able to support
other less experienced therapists and other members of the school team
·
Able to
demonstrate their potential and willingness to develop leadership skills
·
Able to
demonstrate strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
effectively
