About this Role

We are looking for a teacher that makes the education of their students their first concern and are accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. We seek a teacher that will act with honesty and integrity; have strong subject knowledge, keep their knowledge and skills as teacher up-to-date and are self-critical; forge positive professional relationships; and work with parents in the best interests of their students. 


The Science faculty at Bridgewater currently comprises fifteen teachers, ten being full-time with five part-time teachers.

 Science is currently taught in mixed ability groups through years 7 to 11.  At KS3 pupils follow the National Curriculum, lessons and schemes of work having been developed over many years. At KS4 pupils can opt to study Separate sciences following AQA specifications (currently one third of the year group choose this open option). The remaining pupils continue with Combined Science and follow the AQA Trilogy specification.

 The structure of the faculty comprises the Head of Faculty and Heads of subject for Biology, Chemistry and Physics in addition to co-ordinators for Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4. The faculty is well resourced, and all classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.

 The Science Faculty is looking to appoint an individual who is committed and enthusiastic about teaching and learning and to raising the achievement of all pupils. The faculty is committed to supporting its members and to the professional development of all members of staff.
