About this Role

The Learning Partnership along with the Principal at Wistaston Church Lane Academy wish to appoint a motivated, committed and highly effective Assistant Caretaker to join our hard working and enthusiastic team.

Key duties will include:

  • Ensuring that the site and its buildings are locked and secured at the end of the day.
  • Maintaining and cleaning parts of the school daily.
  • Acting as a designated key holder for the school premises.
  • Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance, including painting and decorating.
  • Undertaking general portage duties, including moving furniture and distributing items to the appropriate place.
  • Taking action where Health and Safety hazards are identified.
  • Basic grounds maintenance – snow clearing, gritting, litter picking, bin emptying.
  • Emergency attendance in case of alarms.

Other duties as required

Please note that this position is full year, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement.

(Hours can be flexible during the summer holidays. We may request that, on occasion, the post holder is flexible during term time, to help manage the building during later evening events in school).

Hours of work: 20 hours  -working hours are 2pm to 6pm Monday to Friday or 4 working days working 1pm- 6pm including a Friday.

Weeks: 52

Contract: Permanent

Salary Range:  Grade 3  £24,796-£25,186

Actual Salary: £13,403
