Every employee in our school is instrumental in our pupils' progress and we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Grade 2) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children.
This role is essential in helping to create an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day.
What you will do:
Assist the lead in class implementing relevant educational activities tailored to the needs of each child.
Provide individual support to students, especially those with special educational needs, ensuring they are engaged and included in all activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and communication.
Communicate effectively with pupils to promote understanding and learning, using appropriate methods
Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, ensuring all materials are organised and accessible.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and share insights on individual needs.
What you will bring:
GCSE Math's and English or equivalent
Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
Ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships
