It couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us at Springwell Special Academy. As a proud member of the Wellspring Academy Trust (recently named Multi Academy Trust of the Year), we provide cross-phase education for children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. We are incredibly proud to hold a Gold Investors in People award, reflecting how deeply we value, support, and develop our staff team.
At Springwell, we don't focus on the past; we focus on the future. We believe that with the right environment, the right relationships, and a genuinely caring team, every single student can discover their strengths and succeed. We live and breathe our core values every single day: Kindness, Courage, Curiosity, and Pride.
We are building our Talent Pool to connect with patient, resilient, and compassionate people for upcoming permanent, full or part time, fixed term, and flexible relief roles. If you want a career where your personality, empathy, and listening skills matter far more than corporate talk, we want to hear from you.
Teaching Assistant: If you are looking to build a career in special education, this is a brilliant entry point. Working closely with our classroom teachers, you will help implement lesson plans tailored to each child's needs, provide individualised support, and foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere where everyone feels involved.
Advanced / Specialist Teaching Assistant: As an experienced TA, you will act as a "Group Guide" to provide essential support to a specific group of students with complex SEMH needs. You will establish safe, predictable learning routines, facilitate smooth transitions between lessons, and provide a "secure base" by helping students regulate their emotions and maintain calm, consistent boundaries without inducing shame.
Positive Engagement Coach: Bring your creativity and resilience to our special school! In this role, you will lead small classes of pupils, developing and delivering personalised packages of interventions to support their emotional and academic development. This includes running a fantastic variety of classroom learning, outdoor activities, and sports sessions within the school and out in the wider community. No two days are the same, and you will have lots of fun!
Unconditional Positive Regard: We believe people flourish when their environment is good enough. We accept and care for our students unconditionally, creating a culture of trust and empathy that applies to our staff team just as much as our kids.
Clear Career Pathways: We love to see our people grow. As a Gold Investors in People school, your professional development is fully backed with high quality, personalised training from day one.
Workplace Well being: Work alongside supportive, passionate colleagues in a welcoming team environment that actively prioritises your workload, health, and mental well being.
A Great Balance: You get to do profoundly meaningful, life changing work during the school day, backed by an incredibly close knit team, while leaving work completely at the door when you clock out. We value a healthy work-life balance.
When you register for our support staff talent pool, you aren't just joining a waiting list, you are positioning yourself at the front of the line for a rewarding career. When a suitable vacancy opens, our talent pool is our first port of call and our recruitment team will be in touch. We will keep you up to date with the latest news and activities within our school on a regular basis.
