About this Role

Working Weeks: Term Time plus 2 weeks (38 weeks plus 2 weeks during school closure)

Paid weeks: 45.797 weeks

Working Pattern: Mon - Fri

This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in improving attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing for pupils who find attending school challenging due to anxiety or other emotional factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver targeted interventions for pupils identified with EBSA
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils and their families
  • Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external agencies to develop and implement support plans
  • Support reintegration into school through personalised timetables and strategies
  • Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress and engagement
  • Support class teachers in meeting the needs of pupils with SEMH needs
  • Provide guidance and support to other staff on EBSA strategies
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a senior or specialist role
  • Has a strong understanding of EBSA, SEMH needs, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Is calm, patient, and resilient, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Is confident liaising with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Is organised and able to manage and prioritise a varied workload
  • Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 TA or above) are desirable
