We are seeking to
recruit a Learning Support Assistants at The Grove Primary School,
based in the beautiful market
town of Melton Mowbray. The working hours will be 32.50 hours per week, (8:30am – 3:30pm), Monday
- Friday, term time only plus the 5 inset days (39 weeks) on a permanent
basis.
Key Stage placements will be discussed and
decided after interview.
We wish to appoint
an enthusiastic and highly motivated
learning support assistant who will work as an assistant in the classroom under the
guidance of the class teacher.
We are looking for someone who is reflective, adaptable and skilled
and can motivate and encourage children as required. You might want to consider
this as a steppingstone into teaching and apply to train within our Academy
Trust or you might want to develop
your role across our
schools in the future. There are many options available if you wish to have
career development!
You will be required
to provide support
for teaching and learning activities. This may include
providing general support for whole class learning activities or supporting
individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce new skills or knowledge.
Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.
It would be desirable
that you have an NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
or equivalent or some experience of working with children. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and
English are essential, or currently working towards. Along with good
interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and
be able to work effectively as part of a whole school staff team.

The remuneration package includes a competitive salary,
contributory public-sector
pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement:

Actual Salary £18,938,07 -
£19,238.03 per annum (FTE £25,191
- £25,590 per annum)

5.7 weeks paid holiday
entitlement rising to 6.44 weeks after 5 years’ continuous service
