The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and inclusive school community dedicated to empowering young women to succeed. As a Teacher of English, you will deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, supporting students of all abilities to make excellent progress. You will plan and assess effectively, use evidence‑informed teaching approaches, and adapt your practice to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEND and EAL. Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will contribute to curriculum development, monitor student progress closely, and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure every student achieves their potential.

Beyond the classroom, you will play a full part in the life of the school as a form tutor and valued member of the team. You will promote high standards of behaviour, support student wellbeing, and contribute to enrichment activities, events, and the wider personal development curriculum. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will benefit from a strong professional development offer and the opportunity to grow your practice within a forward‑thinking trust committed to excellence, care, and respect

What We’re Looking For

You are a passionate and dedicated teacher with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high‑quality education. With Qualified Teacher Status and the ability to teach across secondary and post‑16 levels, you bring the skills to inspire, challenge, and engage learners. You understand current educational practice, including curriculum development, assessment, and safeguarding, and are confident using data to support student progress and identify areas for intervention.

You are an enthusiastic, resilient, and reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development and improving outcomes for young people. You value equality, diversity, and inclusion, and are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a vibrant and diverse school community. A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you will thrive in a collaborative environment where expectations are high and staff are united in their commitment to student success.

We are committed to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Full details about the role and the qualifications, experience, and attributes required can be found in the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
