To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development. As a HLTA, you will be required to work in class and support the teachers as well as delivering cover lessons.
Candidates need to demonstrate good to outstanding teaching practices, will need to be organised, proactive and have the ability to develop good relationships with staff, children and parents in the school.
