We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and skilled Site Manager to join our friendly primary school community. This is a key role ensuring our school remains a safe, welcoming and well‑maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school site

  • Carry out routine repairs, minor works and planned maintenance

  • Manage contractors and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Monitor site safety, including risk assessments and statutory checks

  • Open and secure the school premises, including occasional evening or weekend access

  • Support the smooth running of school operations


    We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong practical maintenance and DIY skills

  • Is organised, reliable and able to work independently

  • Has experience supervising or managing staff, or the confidence to do so

  • Takes pride in creating a safe and positive environment

  • Communicates well with staff, pupils and external contractors

  • Has experience in a similar role (school experience desirable but not essential)
  • Good computer skills, confident using digital systems for diary entries, daily/weekly/monthly schedules, and record‑keeping, or willing to learn with support.

The role of site manager is vital to the smooth running of our school and we would want the successful individual to be on hand to open and close our school. The working hours required for the role will be discussed and agreed at interview.
