About this Role

Dear reader, my name is Pritam Kumar Vekaria and I am the ridiculously proud Headteacher of Whitefriars School. We are a fully integrated 3 to 18 all-through school. In March 2024, our school was judged Outstanding by OFSTED for Nursery and Reception (EYFS) and Good in all other areas including Sixth Form.

We are now looking for a positive, dynamic and resilient Welfare Co-Ordinator, to join our fantastic team across the school on a Full-time, permanent basis during Term-time only.

Under the instruction and guidance of the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Welfare Team and providing first aid and welfare support to all children across both the Primary and Secondary Schools, in accordance with the welfare support rota.

Our pupils make rapid progress and achieve academic excellence in an environment of love and care. Our school is a strong family where expectations are high, values are positive and children are treasured. Our goal is to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills and character to lead successful lives. We believe that anyone can learn anything and the growth mind-set underpins everything we do. We do not believe that some pupils are bright and that others are not. We believe in the limitless capacity for everyone to achieve great things. We believe that what we become and what we achieve comes from great teaching, hard work and fantastic support.

We provide pupils with a curriculum of the highest quality. We have new state-of-the art buildings with a wide range of extensive facilities. Our pedagogical approach is rooted in the science of how children learn. We ask lots of questions, we explain in small steps, we link to prior learning and we guide first practice. Our pupils think hard about their learning. We read a lot because it has a profound impact on educational outcomes.

Our teachers get to know the pupils as individuals and build meaningful relationships that last. We ensure that all of our pupils feel they belong. We explicitly teach our pupils to live by positive shared values and to hold these deep in their hearts. We are a Rights Respecting Gold accredited school. This creates our wonderful learning environments and great behaviour. We offer a wide range of innovative clubs.

‘Our mission is to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students, staff and families. Thus, fostering ambitious, highly skilled and educated positive citizens for our community. What makes us special is how we work as a unified community in pursuit of this mission’

Wellbeing is really important for our community; we are already signed up to the DfE staff wellbeing charter mark. However, for us actions speaker louder than words. So just a few points in how we make this happen for the staff who work so hard in our school and strive to achieve our mission.

  • Ethical & supportive middle and senior leadership team
  • 2-week October half-term
  • Early finish on Mondays to allow for Professional development time
  • Nursery on-site, with full-time places with discounts for staff
  • Free use of touch screen luxury coffee & hot chocolate machine
  • No teaching on Friday afternoon, instead we have enrichment clubs after lunch every week, you lead an activity of your choice allowing our pupils to get to know your other superpowers/skills.
  • We are a lead teaching Hub school

The Heathland Whitefriars Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to a Disclosure Barring Service check.

In accordance with DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, an online search will be completed on all shortlisted applicants prior to interview.

We reserve the right to shortlist, interview and appoint prior to the closing date so early applications are encouraged.
