About this Role

Heathland School is seeking a committed, professional and highly organised Reception/Administration Assistant to join our team on a maternity‑cover basis. This is a key front‑of‑house role, providing an exceptional first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

Working within a busy and fast‑paced environment, the successful candidate will play an integral part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the school. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed and effective when managing multiple demands.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates:

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A professional, welcoming manner when interacting with all members of the school community
  • Strong organisational ability, with confidence managing a varied and often demanding workload
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, email and general IT systems
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of our outstanding team
  • A calm, efficient approach in a dynamic environment
  • (Bonus!) Has experience in a school office or with Bromcom — but training is available

Why Join Heathland School?

This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the day‑to‑day life of a thriving and supportive school community. As a central point of contact, you will play an important part in ensuring that the school maintains the highest standards of professionalism, communication and care.

You will join a dedicated team where your contribution is valued, and where a positive, collaborative working culture is firmly established.

Our Commitment

The Heathland Whitefriars Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide two professional references. Online checks will be conducted on all applicants as part of KCSiE 2025.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.
