About this Role

Glory Farm Primary School is seeking an inspirational Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key leadership position with responsibility for shaping the strategic direction of inclusion in order to support vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, SEMH needs and pupils eligible for Pupil Premium. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will also have two days per week classroom teaching to maintain strong links with daily practice and model high quality teaching.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will:

Lead inclusion across the school, ensuring high quality, consistent provision for pupils with SEND, EAL, SEMH needs and those eligible for Pupil Premium. 

Provide strategic leadership of SEND policy, specialist pathways and day to day SEND operations. 

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the school's Pupil Premium strategy, ensuring it aligns with EEF guidance.

Promote and monitor high quality teaching and use data to inform provision, progress and school improvement. 

Line manage Teaching Assistants and HLTAs, including recruitment, induction and performance development. 

Lead CPD, INSET and staff coaching to strengthen inclusive practice and support whole school improvement. 

Coordinate effective interventions, extended provision and family engagement to improve outcomes. 

Work closely with external agencies and lead on EHC plans, applications and statutory processes. 

Contribute to self evaluation, school improvement planning and the wider work of the Senior Leadership Team. 

Teach for two days per week, modelling excellent practice and supporting colleagues with curriculum development.


We are seeking a leader who is:

A qualified teacher with strong classroom practice and significant teaching experience.

Knowledgeable about the SEND Code of Practice, national strategies and inclusive pedagogy - including Pupil Premium initiatives.

Experienced in leading or managing provision (leadership experience in schools essential).

Committed to improving outcomes for all pupils, with a strong understanding of data and assessment.

Skilled in building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.

A confident communicator who can inspire and influence others.

Reflective, motivated and ready to contribute fully to school life.

We welcome applicants who already hold the SENCO qualification or are willing to complete it upon appointment.
