About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our one-form entry school, where teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of our success. Staff regularly share ideas and work closely together, fostering a supportive environment for both personal and professional growth.

Our leadership team is committed to ensuring all new staff members are warmly welcomed, well-inducted and feel part of the school family from day one.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position to start in September 2026 until August 2027.

Blandford St Mary is a popular mixed-gender, one-form entry primary school in Blandford. We have a PAN of 210 children, arranged into seven classes – Reception through to Year 6. We offer excellent standards of care, guidance and support, and a high-quality learning environment to support all learners equally.

We achieve above national expectations through the delivery of rigorous, engaging learning. The school upholds an ethos of high expectations that provides children with challenging opportunities where they acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence that can be applied to all future learning experiences.

Our vision statement, ‘Knowing we are loved, we learn and grow to be the best that we can be,’ is at the core of everything we do. It underpins our teaching and learning and provides an environment that prepares our pupils to be confident, happy citizens.

Our vision is underpinned by 1 Corinthians 16:14: ‘Let all that you do be done in love.’

Our mission is to provide the highest-quality teaching and learning for all our children, where every individual is cherished within our school family and knows that they are loved unconditionally; where diversity is celebrated; and where opportunities for all are constantly sought.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is kind, nurturing and able to inspire and motivate young learners;
  • Has high expectations and a drive to enable pupils to be the best that they can be;
  • Promotes high standards of behaviour and models our school values;
  • Is a proactive and reflective practitioner who takes pride in their work;
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team, contributing positively and taking shared responsibility for the life of the school;
  • Communicates positively and effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships.

We can offer:

  • Children who are motivated, enthusiastic and articulate in their learning;
  • A supportive school community with welcoming staff, parents and carers;
  • A dedicated and encouraging SLT with strong ambition and vision for the school’s future;
  • A collaborative team where enthusiasm, hard work and initiative are valued and appreciated;
  • High-quality support and mentoring for Early Career Teachers.

We want our staff to thrive so we offer an extensive range of wellness services and professional learning opportunities to support growth and development. Please visit our website for further details: Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust - Wellness
