Internal Vacancy: Senior Administrator

This is an exciting opportunity for a colleague who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and is committed to delivering high-quality administrative support. The role is predominantly parent-facing, working closely with the school office to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for families.

About the role:

As Senior Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school office. You will work closely with the administrator, supporting them in their duties, particularly in their role as the first point of contact for parents and visitors.

You will also take a lead on key operational areas, including staff absence administration and Payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective communication with central services.

You will work collaboratively with central teams across Greenwood Academies Trust, including:

  • Education Directorate
  • The People Directorate
  • Corporate Affairs
  • Finance and Procurement teams
  • Estates services

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the administrator in their role and strengthen day-to-day office systems
  • Work alongside the administrator, who is the first point of contact for parents and visitors
  • Lead on staff absence processes, including recording, reporting and liaising with the People Directorate
  • Lead on staff recruitment process. (Safer recruitment) 
  • Ensure a professional, welcoming and responsive service for all stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and administrative systems
  • Liaise with central teams to coordinate HR, finance, procurement and estates processes
  • Support compliance and the smooth operation of school systems

  • A working understanding of Arbor and school administrative systems
  • An understanding of GAT systems and processes 
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff and external partners
  • A proactive, flexible and supportive approach
