Hours: 20 hrs per week – 7:30am to 08:45am then 3.15pm to 6pm

Temporary, term time only.

Salary: FTE £25,583 (actual salary £11,639)

Marlfields Primary School – Lion Club, is a friendly and popular Before and After School Club. We are looking to employ a play worker to support our team in providing quality care to our children. You will help with planning, day–to-day organisation and operation of the club, providing high quality play opportunities and care for children in an inclusive environment, and in accordance with the ethos of the school.


Main Purposes of Role:

  • ·         Assist with the setting up of the venue each day.
  • ·         Assist with the set up/ preparation of snack as appropriate.
  • ·         Assist with the serving of snack as appropriate.
  • ·         Assist with the collection of children daily, making sure that they are happy and safe and welcomed in to Lion Club.
  • ·         Help to create a welcoming and supportive environment for the children.
  • ·         Assist with the management of the behaviour of the children.
  • ·         Assist with the tidying of the venue after use and ensure the secure storage or resources and equipment used.
  • ·         To assist in planning and leading age-appropriate activities for group of children daily.
  • ·         To undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may reasonably be required from time to time.
  • ·         Assist in ensuring the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the environment.
  • ·         Demonstrate and assist in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment/materials.
  • ·         Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, food hygiene, health, safety and security, administration and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
