This is an incredible opportunity for a Teacher of Science
and Maths (KS3/KS4) to make a difference and join a great team of people within
a supportive, values-led organisation in the secondary provision. For the
right candidate, there is an opportunity for a middle leadership
role within the academy.
As a Science Teacher at Ormiston Latimer Academy, you will
play a vital role in inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and
problem-solving skills in students who may have found mainstream education
challenging. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible
Science lessons that connect theory to real-world applications, helping
students build confidence in their abilities and fostering a lifelong interest
in scientific discovery and numerical reasoning.
About our Academy
Located in Kensington and Chelsea Ormiston Latimer Academy
provides a caring environment based on integrity, mutual respect, and
understanding. It seeks to reignite passion in education and aspiration.
Each learner is treated as an individual and is supported to develop within an
environment that develops a love of learning and the ability to create social
and emotional skills fit for the world outside of education.
The main provision at Latimer is for secondary learners, but
we also have a managed intervention centre and outreach service. Our learners
are at risk of or have been excluded from mainstream settings. We serve the
London Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We believe that success for our
young people comes because of our specialist approach; we are interested in
activities that develop all young people’s capabilities; their potential for
employability; their ability to have successful healthy relationships; their
ability to make safe life choices, enhancing their quality of life and the
realisation of their aspirations.
Our approach considers our young people’s education
experiences to date, their social-emotional health, their mental health, their
family situation and experiences, and their special educational needs (SEN). We
work closely with professionals, families, and other practitioners to affect
change in our young people’s lives, ensuring our work is holistic and therefore
creates success by any means for all our children. We are proud of the work
that we do, and the environment of our school is caring supportive, and
inclusive. We believe that through this approach we support our children,
enhancing their quality of life and promoting the realisation of their
aspirations.
Ofsted (November 2025) commented:
"Pupils are fortunate to attend the school. Here
they mend their relationship with learning , forge trusting relationships with
adults and feel valued."
