Colne Valley High School is seeking to appoint a dedicated
and proactive Pastoral Response Lead to join our pastoral team. The successful
candidate will play a key role in maintaining a calm, safe and orderly learning
environment by overseeing student conduct outside of lessons and leading our on‑call
pastoral response. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong
behaviour‑leadership experience within a school environment, and
a commitment to supporting students to make positive and sustained improvements.
In this role, you will take responsibility for coordinating
the school’s daily pastoral response, ensuring a visible and authoritative
presence across the site and responding swiftly to behavioural, attendance and
pastoral concerns. You will lead the operational delivery of behaviour,
attendance and inclusion systems; design and quality‑assure
targeted pastoral interventions; uphold high professional standards across the
pastoral team; and maintain oversight of key pastoral and safeguarding data to
inform decision‑making and drive continuous improvement.
This position requires excellent organisational and
interpersonal skills, along with the ability to remain calm, authoritative and
solution‑focused under pressure. You will demonstrate strong
behaviour management, a professional and positive approach to working with
young people, and the capacity to build constructive relationships with staff,
students and families. Confidence in using school systems, maintaining accurate
records and contributing to the development of pastoral processes is essential.
