About this Role

Colne Valley High School
SENDCO
Permanent full time role
Salary – MPS/UPS + TLR 1A
To start – September 2026

Colne Valley High School are looking to recruit a SENDCO to join our dedicated team. As an SENDCO, you will play a crucial role in the effective coordination and provision of special educational needs and disabilities support across the school. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure that the individual needs of students with SEND are identified, understood, and met effectively.

We are looking for someone with relevant SEN experience gained by working in secondary schools or a similar role. The successful candidate must have sound knowledge and understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience in supporting students with a wide range of SEN is highly advantageous.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment is imperative. This is a role that requires the ability to prioritise tasks and remain confident under pressure with a problem-solving attitude to work.
