About this Role

The Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust is seeking an inspirational and dynamic individual for the role of Headteacher at one of our esteemed junior schools in Sheffield. DSAT is a trust committed to providing exceptional education and we are looking for a leader who shares our values and is dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. We are looking for someone who has a clear presence as a leader and who understands and can work well within a Multi Academy Trust. The Headteacher will inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others to carry the school’s vision forward. Applicants do not need to be practicising methodists/anglicans to apply for this post but there is an expectation that the successful candidate will lead with the values aligned to the school and trust.

We need someone who will lead the development of the curriculum and ensure that the key priorities for school improvement in writing and phonics are effectively achieved. The Headteacher will be supported by our CEO and the School Improvement Lead to achieve the high standards required for all aspects of the school.

The Role

1. Providing visionary leadership to the school, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high academic standards.

2. Implementing the trust's mission and values in daily school life, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.

3. Work with the Trust EWO to improve pupil attendance and reduce persistent absence

4. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.

5. Overseeing the effective delivery of the national and school curriculum, ensuring an engaging and challenging learning experience for all pupils.

6. Leading and supporting the professional development of teaching and non-teaching staff.

Who We’re Looking For

The successful candidate should possess:

Proven leadership experience in a primary school setting.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant teaching experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to the ethos and values of The Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust.

Strong strategic and organisational abilities.
