About the role

Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy are looking to recruit several Lunchtime Assistants to support our children during their lunch and play time.

If you are looking to earn an extra income and have a passion for working with children, this could be the role for you. We currently have vacancies throughout the week on various days over lunchtime, we are looking for people to cover one hour or more between 11.30am – 1.30pm.

Within this role, you will play a key role in supporting the children on the playground during their lunch break, you will encourage them to play games together and use the school equipment, you will be there to support them with taking turns, sharing and problem solving.

The job requirements

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with both adults and children. Strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are all essential to this role.

You will have a genuine care towards all our children, encouraging them to achieve their best. You will have good behaviour management skills, implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use behaviour management in all areas around school.

While experience of working with children and a qualification are not essential it would be useful if you have some knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and special education needs although full training and support will be provided to the successful candidates.
