This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate professional who is committed to ensuring that every student feels safe, supported and able to succeed. The successful candidate will work at the heart of our pastoral, safeguarding and SEND provision, helping to coordinate support for some of our most vulnerable learners.

You will work closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff, the SEND team, external agencies and families to ensure that students receive the right support at the right time. You will also play a key role in developing and monitoring interventions, supporting mental health and wellbeing provision and ensuring that no student falls through gaps in support.

 The Role

 As SEMH Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Work closely with pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams to ensure joined-up support.
  • Monitor behaviour, attendance and wellbeing information to identify students requiring intervention.
  • Coordinate and review interventions to ensure they have a positive impact.
  • Support referrals to external agencies and specialist services.
  • Lead meetings with students, families and professionals.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Wellbeing to develop mental health and wellbeing provision.
  • Ensure students receive timely and effective support through a graduated approach.
  • Support the development of an inclusive, relational and nurturing school culture.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young people who face social, emotional or mental health challenges.
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and SEND.
  • Builds positive relationships with students and families.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Can work collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
  • Demonstrates resilience, empathy and exceptional attention to detail.

 What We Offer

  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
  • A highly supportive inclusion and pastoral team.
  • Excellent opportunities for professional development.
  • The chance to help shape and develop wellbeing and SEMH provision.
  • A school community that places relationships, inclusion and student wellbeing at the heart of its work.

 Why This Role Matters
