School Technician (Mainly Design Technology with some support for other practical subjects)

Excellent Package – Salary 2A £24,029 FTE £21,043 Actual

 (paid 45.2 weeks including holiday entitlement)

We are seeking to appoint a well organised, skilled and professional person to support our Design Technology teachers. If you are passionate about young people, enjoy variety in your role and thrive on working in a busy environment this is a great opportunity for you.  The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, relate well to young people and ideally possess Maths and English GCSE Grade C or 4 or above (or equivalent).

Working as part of a team is a crucial aspect of the role within the school, so you must have a flexible attitude to react to different situations throughout the school day and the ability to use your own initiative within the learning environment. The role mainly involves providing set up and resource support in design technology, ensuring that equipment is ready to use, and that the right materials are available for particular lessons. You will also be responsible for monitoring resource stock levels and ordering supplies. Sometimes you may be expected to assist in lessons working with students.  The job is varied and potential is as important as experience with training provided if needed.

• To assist in the organisation of practical support for design technology, maintaining practical equipment and stock levels on all appropriate goods.
