About the role
Working under the direction and within an agreed system of
supervision from a qualified teacher in the EY, KS1 or KS2.
Complement the teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum
and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school
policies and strategies.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff
and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the
management/preparation of resources. Also, to supervise whole classes
occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers including PPA.
Provide support for pupils, the teacher, and the
school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils
(e.g., SEN, EAL, GT, all underachieving groups).
Organise and participate in the supervision of
individuals and groups of students in dining, playground and
circulation areas throughout the day. Ensure that students are engaged
in appropriate activity and intervene to maintain behaviour
standards and ensure well-being, safety, and welfare.
Fixed term until 31st August 2026. Term-Time, 39 weeks per year,
5.5 hrs. per week, Fridays 8.30am to 2.30pm

and technology, to provide the secure foundation for learning in a wide range
of situations, whilst also developing children’s creative thinking. We make
learning interesting and fun; our children enjoy school and have a real
enthusiasm for learning.

of academies with a geographical focus on Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, and
Yorkshire/ Humber region. The network is a mix of primary secondary, and

Who we are looking for
NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications
or experience.
GCSE Grade A - C English and Maths.
Level 2 Certificate in Childcare in Schools or equivalent.
Motivation to work with children and young people.
Good numeracy / literacy skills.
An ability to understand the principles of child development
and learning processes and in particular barriers to learning.
Training in the relevant learning strategies e.g., literacy.
Effective use of ICT to support learning.
Committed to promoting the welfare of all children and
creating a safe environment in which children can learn; considering, at
all times, what is in the best interests of the child
