MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under the guidance of teaching staff, work with targeted pupils providing specific support to assist individuals or small groups of pupils in overcoming barrier’s to learning.
• Observe and feedback on pupil progress to assist teaching staff in identifying individual needs and support required so that individual learning plans can be developed.
• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis to assist in the implementation of individual learning plans.
• Support teaching and pastoral staff with any other relevant interventions required such as home visits.
• Assist in building relationships and communicating with pupil’s families and guardians to ensure they are kept up to date with any concerns and progress.
• Use a variety of activities to provide additional support to pupil’s enabling them to access the necessary resources including external facilities and academic support.
• Maintain pupil records, reporting on pupil achievement and progress to ensure accurate records are maintained.
Safeguarding Statement
In accordance with CLPT’s Safeguarding Policy and the document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, all staff have a duty of care to safeguard the health and safety and well being of all students on school premises and when engaged in authorised school activities elsewhere. Staff are inducted to follow policy and procedures to report any safeguarding concerns.

In accordance with the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification)
Regulation 2009 the Governors are
required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for
employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers
the age range from birth until 1st September following a
child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years
childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained
the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or
if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related
establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified
‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is
disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification)
Regulation 2009
We are legally obliged to ask you to
provide evidence of your right to live and work in the UK. If you are successful, we will ask you to
provide appropriate documents, such as a passport, visa of full birth certificate
and national insurance number to confirm this.
