About this Role

Who We Are:

Ormiston Meadows Academy (OMA) is a happy, supportive and caring place to be. We understand the demands of the education industry and enable a sensible approach to workload, and a calm and respectful environment.

Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest non-for-profit multi-academy trusts in England. The successful candidates will be joining an academy chain which believes passionately that every child should be given a chance to thrive.

OMA is a small, one form entry academy, which allows staff to build positive relationships with, and guide and support all our pupils. We are determined that every pupil be given the opportunity to realise their dreams and aspirations regardless of their background.

The successful candidates will align with our school values: Be your best, Expect the Best, Succeed, Together (BEST for short!) These are firmly embedded within our culture, and we are proud that our pupils demonstrate them daily.

We have a comprehensive professional development calendar and qualification opportunities are offered to all staff at all levels. They are delivered within the academy, via OAT or via accredited external providers.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the small Mid-Day team at our lovely school! In this role you will help ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children during the lunchtime period, supporting the school’s policies and promoting positive behaviour. The successful candidate will encourage and lead positive and active play experiences and opportunities, come rain or shine! If you are organised, enthusiastic, motivated and have a sense of fun we would love to hear from you.  Usual working hours will be 11.30am to 1.30pm (Monday to Friday, term-time plus 5 days)

The successful candidate will:

  • have a broad and balanced education and be able to evidence good numeracy and literacy skills
  • have the ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures
  • have the ability to perform the physical tasks required by the post
  • be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
  • be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • have the ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Be willing to undertake any training relevant to the post, as directed

What we offer:

  • Access to the Vivup employee benefits portal with discounts on supermarkets, technology, fashion, travel, etc.
  • Access to our Employee Counselling helpline – free and confidential
  • Supportive working environment where all staff are valued
  • An academy that is fully dedicated to developing every student to reach their full potential, irrespective of their ability or starting point
  • Collaborative working within our shared family of schools
  • Excellent CPD opportunities
  • Onsite parking
  • Local Pension Scheme
  • Excellent facilities

Please note that the Academy withholds the right to withdraw the advert at any time, or interview suitable candidates before the closing date.

Ormiston Meadows Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. Ormiston Academies Trust embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity.  Flexible working opportunities will be considered.

All successful appointments will be subject to suitability checks in accordance with KCSIE, including identity, Right to Work, qualifications, online searches, prohibition check, two references and enhanced DBS check including Children’s Barred List.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
