Operations Manager

Location: George Grenville Academy, Buckingham
Salary: Bucks Pay Range 26 £31,310 actual salary

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 0815 – 1615 daily. 43 weeks a year, term time plus 5 weeks to be worked during the school holidays as agreed.
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to join our team and play a key role in the smooth running of our school.

The Role
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the academy, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellence in all non-teaching aspects of school life. This is a pivotal role that supports the Headteacher and senior leadership team in delivering outstanding education by managing resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage administrative, premises, and support staff functions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage contracts, suppliers, and service agreements.
  • Support HR processes including recruitment and staff records.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements across the school.

About You:

  • Friendly and welcoming manner and ability to represent the school and work as part of a team
  • Proven experience in operations or business management, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HR processes.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and commitment to the school’s values.
