The role at St Jude's
As a Catering Assistant at St Jude’s CofE Primary Academy, you will play a valued and visible role in creating a welcoming, nurturing environment where every pupil feels respected, supported, and ready to thrive. Rooted in the school’s Christian ethos and “Children are the Rainbow of the World” philosophy, you will help ensure that mealtimes are more than just food — they are part of the school’s commitment to developing respect, achievement, inspiration, nurture, belief, outstanding behaviour, and a welcoming community.
You will assist with the preparation and service of nutritious meals that meet school standards, ensuring that all pupils experience healthy, enjoyable food in a friendly setting. Working as part of the catering and wider school team, you will contribute to a safe, clean, and inclusive dining environment that celebrates diversity, encourages positive relationships, and supports pupils’ wellbeing. You will uphold high standards of hygiene, health, and safety, demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to support the school’s values in all you do.
Your role will directly contribute to the school’s mission of promoting mutual respect, fostering a positive experience for every child, and helping pupils and staff alike feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged to achieve their best each day.
