About this Role

Southbroom St James Academy is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and complex needs. This role also includes Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised support to meet the child’s learning, social and emotional needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies and interventions.
  • Assist with classroom activities and promote inclusion.
  • Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime as part of MDSA duties.

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable).
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
