About this Role

Second in PE Department/Faculty

MPS/UPS + TLR 2a (£3,526)

Start date: 1 September 2026

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Second in Department for PE who has a genuine passion for sport and a strong commitment to enriching students’ experiences beyond the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who can inspire, motivate and engage students in both curriculum PE and a vibrant extra-curricular programme.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across all key stages. More importantly, they will bring energy, drive and a clear vision for developing sport within the Academy, including leading and supporting a range of enrichment opportunities that encourage participation, competition and a lifelong love of physical activity.

At St Thomas More Catholic Academy, sport plays a key role in promoting our core values of Faith, Excellence and Respect. We are proud of our inclusive approach and are committed to ensuring all students have access to high-quality sporting opportunities, both recreational and competitive.

St Thomas More Catholic Academy is an 11–18 mixed Catholic comprehensive school with 1170 students on roll and an excellent reputation across the local community.

Visits to the Academy are encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Miss R Swansbury at rswansbury@stmca.org.uk.

Please see the attached full information.
