If you’ve had enough of lessons and lectures and want to take your first steps on a career path into leadership and management, whilst getting paid to learn, this position might be for you.
‘Creating Tomorrow’s Citizens Today’ isn’t just something that we put on our website. We genuinely believe in developing and enriching young people’s skills, knowledge and experiences so that they can become positive contributors to society. With this in mind, we are looking for a motivated and ambitious young person to join us as an Apprentice Facilities Management Supervisor.
What is Facilities Management?
Facilities Management is ensuring that anywhere where there are people, whether that’s a hospital; football stadium; nuclear power plant; 5-star hotel, or an all-through school in Hertford, the buildings and environment are safe, sustainable and efficient. Facilities Management is a fast-paced, multi-billion-pound industry that keeps the world moving.
Careers in Facilities Management can take you into any sector, anywhere in the world and, in the UK, salaries range from £27,000-£35,000 for entry level positions up to £100,000+ for senior management.
What will you be doing?
You will be on the ground, learning how to manage a physical site and coordinate the people who keep it running. As you progress, you will:
Learn the ins and outs of health and safety regulations to keep everyone on site safe.
Help us implement green initiatives to make our buildings more eco-friendly.
Work with external partners and suppliers to ensure top-quality service.
What’s in it for you?
A competitive starting salary (£12.85 per hour, the minimum hourly rate for an 18-year-old apprentice is £8.00 per hour) with guaranteed annual pay reviews.
We will fully fund your Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor qualification.
You’ll be paired with an experienced Facilities Manager who will provide mentorship and coaching.
25 days annual leave entitlement.
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need prior experience in property or management; we will teach you everything. We care about your attitude and potential.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
Enjoy talking to people and can clearly explain things to staff and contractors.
Can keep track of tasks and organise yourself and others.
Are eager to learn and develop new skills.
Requirements
You’ll need GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or above) by the time you start.
A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.
The apprenticeship is for fixed term period, however upon qualification the graduate would be encouraged to apply for a permanent position within the Facilities Management team.
