About this Role
Head of Food
We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and forward-thinking
subject leader to join our thriving Food Department. The successful candidate
will be passionate about inspiring both students and colleagues, and committed
to driving excellence across both academic and vocational pathways.
You will be joining a high-performing team with a track
record of outstanding outcomes. Demand for GCSE Food Preparation &
Nutrition has increased by over 50%. We currently run two GCSE groups in Year
10 and two in Year 11, and from September this will expand to three groups in
Year 10, reflecting the continued strength and popularity of the subject. We
are also keen to hear the successful applicant’s thoughts on the potential
development of a food-related course at Key Stage 5 and how this could further
enhance our curriculum offer.
The department benefits from excellent facilities, including
fully equipped catering spaces that support high‑quality practical teaching and
innovative curriculum design.
Food lessons are exceptionally well supported by a dedicated Technology Technician, whose number one priority is ensuring that all Food lessons run smoothly and efficiently. This provides the ideal foundation for a leader who is ready to build on our success and continue expanding the department’s reach and impact.
