About the role
Greenfields
Primary School & Nursery are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant
with sound knowledge and/or experience of the primary curriculum to add
specific skills to our existing team and are committed to ensure that all
children achieve their best.
26 hours
per week, term time only (39 weeks worked) worked over 4 days a week
Model excellent day-to-day
inclusive practice.
Work with SENCo and other staff
to ensure Learning Support reflects the School’s ethos and aims.
Develop knowledge of a range of
learning support needs and strategies of support to meet children’s learning
and pastoral needs.
Participate in training to
develop the range of skills required to support the full spectrum of child/ children
with SEND.
Give in-class support by
clarifying and explaining instructions
Ensuring the children can use
equipment and materials provided
Motivating and encouraging the
student as required
Supporting the development of
skills in literacy, numeracy, communication and social and behavioural needs
Helping children to concentrate
on, and finish, work set
Meeting physical needs as
required whilst encouraging independence; liaising with class teachers and
SENCo.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and they will enjoy working within a year group team to support the class teachers in providing a high quality education for our children.
Applicants must be able:
To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom
To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
Have excellent classroom practice
To get involved in whole school life
To be an active team player who shows initiative and works well as part of a team
To have a commitment to safeguard children in our care.
