SEN Teaching Assistant
The Governors of Over Hall Community School are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
This role involves working under the guidance of the class teacher and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to provide targeted support and promote high-quality inclusive practice across the school.
The Role
The successful candidate will have experience supporting children with special educational needs and will work closely with teaching staff to plan and deliver effective provision for pupils with complex needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering interventions in line with pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), both 1:1 and in small groups
Planning and delivering targeted support programmes
Supporting sensory needs, including leading sensory circuits
Promoting inclusion within the classroom and wider school environment
Building positive relationships with families to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Working with external agencies and implementing their recommendations to support pupil development
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
