About this Role

About the school

At Little Parndon, we have many minds but one mission:to shape futures through education. Our vision is to empower students through equity, to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and value knowledge and skills to shape their future. To go on to participate in and contribute to the global world and practise the core values of the school: Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

About the Trust

BMAT is a thriving community of schools, committed to providing an outstanding education for every student attending one of our schools. We create environments where individuals matter, confidence flourishes, and every child can achieve exceptional outcomes. We currently oversee seven secondary academies and five primary academies, primarily located in Harlow, with additional sites in Newham and Stansted.

The Trust’s vision is clear - to work together to smash through the barriers that prevent children from becoming confident, high-achieving, and independent individuals.

What can BMAT offer you?

  • Enhanced and flexible PPA
  • Generous employer pension contribution through Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Private healthcare benefits, including 24/7 Doctorline access
  • Home and electronic salary sacrifice scheme
  • Cycle to work
  • Discounted Gym membership through salary sacrifice
  • Lifestyle and discount savings
  • Workplace nursery fee salary sacrifice scheme via Yellownest
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for wellbeing support

We reserve the right to close the advert early if a suitable candidate is found.

BMAT Education is committed to safeguarding children; successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, we may also conduct an online search about any shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence to identify any matters that might relate directly to our legal duty to meet safeguarding duties, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

Little Parndon Primary Academy would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

  1. Safeguarding and School Leadership Safeguarding sits at the heart of this role. How would you make sure it remains robust and visible across the school, while also improving behaviour, attendance and outcomes? Can you talk us through a time when you’ve had to juggle the day-to-day realities of safeguarding with leading longer-term improvements?
  2. Using Data to Make a Difference Tell us about a time when you spotted a concern for a particular group of pupils through behaviour, attendance or progress information. What did you do next, how did you bring staff on board, and what difference did it make in the end?
  3. Leading and Supporting Staff You would be line managing pastoral and SEND colleagues and helping to create a consistent behaviour culture. How do you build trust and high expectations within a team? What would you do if standards weren’t where you needed them to be?
