Kingswood:
It is an exciting time for Kingswood Secondary Academy. We are privileged to
serve one of the most deprived communities in Northamptonshire, yet our
fantastic students are now in the top third of Northamptonshire schools in
terms of their academic outcomes. Contextually, this places our students in the
top 5 secondary schools, out of 42, in the county. If you’d like to find out
more about how we and our students work together to achieve this, and you are a
hard-working individual who enjoys being part of a team, then see the details
below about coming in for a ‘Walk and Talk’.
We are looking for an
energetic and hardworking Teacher of Physics (Physics to
KS5, Combined Sciences to KS4) to start in
September 2026. We are interested in talking to both experienced colleagues
looking for a new challenge as well as early career teachers. Our ideal
candidate will have a passionate and uncompromising commitment to pupil
achievement and be a believer in the potential of all young people. In Science
we have a fantastic team of professionals who have developed a thoroughly well
planned and carefully sequenced curriculum, underpinned by a culture of hard
work and enjoyment in Science which has culminated in strong GCSE results for
the past three academic years. The faculty comprises 11 members of teaching
staff from members of SLT to colleagues who are in the early stages of their
careers. We pride ourselves on the excellent support we give
to not only our students, but each other too, and we are keen to find like-minded colleagues to join this
collegiate team and who would further support our students’ ongoing success. If
this sounds like a place you could also thrive, please apply and see how we can
support your career in a friendly, and caring manner.
ITT
potential:
Furthermore, we run a very successful Initial Teacher Training programme. For the right candidate, who holds a relevant degree, we are happy to explore the potential of you joining us to complete your ITT and develop into a fantastic teacher with us.
Our
Walk & Talk invitation to you:
We
warmly welcome potential candidates to come on what we refer to as a ‘Walk and
Talk’. This usually takes less than an hour, can be during the academy day or
after school has finished. We find this provides a great opportunity for
candidates to get a really good insight into Kingswood, prior to submitting an
application. Please email jlawson@kingswoodsecondaryacademy.org (Senior Deputy Principal)
if you would like to come in for a ‘Walk and Talk’.
We
encourage early applications as sometimes we call to interview early.
Additional staff benefits at Kingswood include: Very strong ‘Pathways’ programme to support your professional development, free gym on site, discounted electric car charging and access to our Employee Wellbeing Programme with associated perks.
In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and
highly valued people:
Alongside nationally agreed terms and conditions, we offer a generous benefits package. Here's a selection of what's on offer to our people in recognition of the huge difference they make to our children, their families and the communities we serve.
If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close and interview for this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All posts will be subject to receipt of satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure, medical and reference checks. All pre-employment checks are in line with "Keeping Children Safe in Education”.
The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
All applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK prior to commencement of employment. As part of our need to comply with UK immigration rules, you will be required to provide Home Office stipulated documentation prior to interview.
