 This role: We are looking for an energetic and hardworking Head of Year to start in September 2026. Our ideal candidate will have a passionate and uncompromising commitment to pupil achievement and be a believer in the potential of all young people. The entire Pastoral team are committed to the pursuit of excellence and are team players with a strong desire to work collaboratively. We pride ourselves on the excellent support we give to not only our students, but each other too. The successful candidate will in close partnership with the Senior Leadership Team to embed the school’s vision and help our students to live out our RISE values and thrive. They will have the opportunity to grow with the school, and they will be supported in their development and preparation for future leadership roles.    

You will: 

    • Work closely with the Deputy Head of Year to lead a team for form tutors to create and sustain a culture and ethos of high expectations for every pupil in both academic achievement and personal development. 
    • Have a clear and highly positive presence 
    • Work closely with the SENDCo and Assistant SENDCO to coordinate and ensure the delivery of timely interventions  
    • Liaise with wide a wide range of staff & agencies to ensure the highest standards of support is available for students 
    • Have an unwavering determination to deliver excellence for pupils from all starting points 
    • Share the Kingswoods beliefs, vision and mission and be aligned with our RISE underpinning everything we do 
    • Be committed to continually improving classroom practice and raising attainment 
    • Manage behaviour effectively to create a positive, calm and purposeful climate for learning 
    • Have the drive, skills and resilient character required to help drive a school onto new heights 
    • Combine subject matter expertise with a passion for teaching your subject 
    • Be reflective about the Academy and committed to securing its continued development 
    • Value and support practices driving continued progress across the network of GAT schools
