This is a very exciting time to join St Edmund’s Catholic Academy. Our extremely popular school is situated in leafy Compton Park, adjacent to the Wolves Academy training grounds, with its wonderful open fields and sports facilities.
Excellent behaviour and student progress for all are underpinned by our CARE values (Calm-Aspirational-Respectful-Engaged), upheld by all who work or study at St Edmund’s.
Working alongside the Data Manager within the Data and Exams team, the role is to be the main point of contact for all new and in-year admissions. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient administrative processes, maintaining detailed, accurate records, and managing the end-to-end admissions and appeals pipeline.
You should be a methodical team player with exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication proficiency to liaise with parents, the Local Authority, and the Diocesan Education Service.
St Edmund’s Catholic Academy is a wonderful and highly successful school where staff and students feel happy and safe and have a close working relationship. We have very high expectations of manners, behaviour and relationships, and these expectations create an environment where all can achieve their ambitions and aspirations. We are looking for the right person to make a positive impact on the Academy community.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience maintaining databases and working with school MIS packages (e.g., Arbor/SIMS) alongside Microsoft and Google suites.
Be responsible for the complete administration of new intake and in-year admissions, including ranking applications, submitting data to the LA, and coordinating student induction logistics.
Manage the school appeals process, from collating forms and setting up hearings with the Diocesan Education Service to distributing paperwork within strict timelines.
Assist the Data Manager with pupil data maintenance, Arbor reporting, Census queries, and supporting exam logistics during peak times.
Demonstrate a professional, helpful, and flexible attitude, with the ability to work under minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Form and maintain appropriate, professional relationships and boundaries with children and young people, contributing to the strong Catholic ethos of our Academy.
We can offer:
A proactive and innovative school with a committed team and a strong Catholic ethos.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A comprehensive programme of induction and departmental support. The well-being and professional development of all staff at St Edmund’s is our priority.
Safeguarding Notice: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and pre-employment medical clearance. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), online searches will also be carried out for shortlisted candidates. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Closing Date: Midday - Monday 29th June 2026
(Early applications are welcomed; suitable candidates may be interviewed promptly upon receipt of application, and we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date in the event that the post is filled).
