About this Role

Are you looking to start your career in administration?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our schools across Learn Academies Trust. This apprenticeship offers a great first step into the world of business administration within a supportive and friendly environment. You will gain practical experience while studying towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification. This is a fixed term post for 18 months, duration of apprenticeship training, working 37 hours per week, term time working plus one week during the school holidays.

About the role

As a Business Admin Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting our small schools cluster which consists of four schools: Husbands Bosworth Primary, St Andrews Primary, South Kilworth Primary and Lubenham Primary School. 

 You will carry out a variety of general administrative tasks to support the day-to-day operations including maintaining records, assisting with compliance documentation, handling emails and phone queries, and working with digital systems. Full training will be provided. You will also receive dedicated study time during the week to complete your apprenticeship coursework and assignments.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail
  • A good communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude to working both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSE English and Maths (A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent)
  • Eligible to undertake a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Office Manager and the schools
  • Operate and maintain records in key systems such as Office 365, Arbor and various other systems used across the schools
  • Respond to queries and external correspondence
  • Assist in organising data, documents and reports
  • Support the preparation of documents for internal and external stakeholders
  • Help ensure Trust systems and processes remain compliant with policies and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Duties will include but not be limited to dealing with incoming and outgoing emails, producing standard letters, making and receiving telephone calls, maintaining our database, diary management, maintaining spread sheets as required, helping with social media, mailshots and marketing materials, assisting with customer visits to properties and our office and any other events, assisting with land site research and communicating with vendors/builders /contractors as needed.
  • You will be computer literate including some knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Confidence on the telephone is important, and you must be organised, with a good eye for detail
  • A high standard of customer service is essential as is good communication skills, both verbal and written. We expect a good standard of English including grammar and spelling as well as being able to use initiative and to ask questions.
  • You must have use of a car and have a driving licence
  • The number one most important requirement is the suitable candidate has to be self-motivated
