We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, innovative and
effective Head of Department to lead PSHE, RS and Citizenship at The Telford
Langley School. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom
practitioner with the ability to lead and develop high-quality teaching and
learning, raising standards and outcomes for all students.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced
teacher to develop their leadership skills within a supportive and
collaborative environment, working closely with senior leaders and colleagues
across the Community Academies Trust.
The successful applicant will:
- The ability to teach either Sociology or Citizenship GCSE would be
desirable, but not essential
- Model excellence in day-to-day leadership.
- Lead the development of high quality, learning centred
policies and practices.
- Work with staff to ensure the subject areas reflect the
school’s ethos and aims.
- Develop a strategic view for the subject areas which support
the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
- Support the creation and implementation of the school
improvement plan, especially as it relates to the subject areas and to take
responsibility for appropriately delegated aspects of it.
- Use national, local and school management data effectively,
to monitor standards across the subjects.
- Monitor the progress made towards achieving annual plans and
targets and use the information to plan future developments.
- Ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum,
targets, children’s progress and attainment within their appropriate year
groups.
