About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join our school community, playing an essential role in fostering a supportive and positive environment that helps students thrive both academically and socially. Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher, you will provide crucial support to the Heads of Year, assisting with administrative tasks, managing behaviour incidents, and coordinating student interventions.

Key responsibilities include supervising students in structured settings such as the reflection room and detentions, liaising with parents and external agencies, and analysing behavioural data to implement strategies for improvement. You will also organise individual and group interventions to address social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, ensuring students feel supported and motivated to achieve their best.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and external organisations. Sensitivity, professionalism, and strong organisational skills are essential for managing multiple responsibilities effectively.

This term-time-only position (plus training days and one additional week in the holidays) offers a salary of £25,017 (actual), with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Join us to make a real difference in the lives of our students and contribute to a thriving school culture!

Sir Thomas Fremantle is set in North Buckinghamshire for 11-16 year olds serving the local community. The school is in easy reach of Milton Keynes and Aylesbury. We benefit from great facilities – the school building was only opened in 2017.

We are driven to ensure all our students have an incredible education that inspires and prepares them for the next step in their journey. With 650 students we are able to really get to know each of them and our sense of community is a real strength of our school.

Your professional development is important to us. We want you to have the skills and training you need to flourish in your role. We care about your wellbeing and work hard to ensure we do all we can to support you.

We would love to show you around our school to meet our wonderful students and to get to know us better.

Please note that we do not accept CV’s - applicants must submit a STFS application form via mynewterm.

Please contact kate.duckmanton@sirthomasfremantle.org  if you wish to arrange a visit.
