About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile team player to become our Teacher of English & Maths (maternity cover), from April 2026 or September 2026.  Candidates must be able to teach English and Maths across Key Stage 2 or 3.

About the Role

The St Marylebone CE Bridge School is offering a unique opportunity to join our school. We are looking for a full-time, enthusiastic and versatile team player to become part of our special needs school, from June or September 20246.

The post will involve delivering English & Maths across the school, at a range of levels. We seek to appoint a Primary or Secondary trained teacher with experience of Upper KS2 or KS3 to work with the Senior Leadership Team in providing teaching, learning and assessment within the school. The ideal candidate will also have had training in Ruth Miskin Read Write In Phonics,  and experience of using this in practice. Our curriculum model requires teaching staff to deliver across a range of ages and abilities including entry level, functional skills and  GCSE. The role also comes with the responsibility of a designated tutor group.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our other dedicated members of staff, with considerable scope for innovation in making the School a centre of pedagogical and educational excellence around Developmental Language Disorder. The St Marylebone CE Bridge School welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, races, cultures, faiths and genders.  The School actively promotes diversity and inclusion across its community and our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: 45% of our students speak English as an additional language; 88% of our students come from backgrounds other than white British.

About the School

The St Marylebone CE Bridge School, a co-educational Special Free School for 11-16 year olds, aims to create an environment in which our students can achieve their maximum potential, gain independence and social awareness so that they can enjoy and participate in the world of work and adult society along with their mainstream peers. The Bridge School was opened in September 2013 by the existing St Marylebone CE School, a mainstream secondary school rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, to provide an innovative education to students with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) for Developmental Language Disorder. Serving the local community, it fulfils the need for secondary places for students with speech and language barriers.

As a school with a Christian ethos we nurture respect for religious, moral and spiritual values.  These are located within scripture in Colossians 3.12-17 and underpin much of what we believe in. We seek to nurture Compassion, Kindness, Patience, Forgiveness, Wisdom, Peace and Gratitude in our school community. We acknowledge our special responsibility in preparing our students for life in modern Britain.
