About this Role

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious and experienced qualified teacher who holds a SENDCo qualification, or is willing to train as a SENDCo, with responsibility for teaching in our Resource Base.

Our SENDCo & Resource base teacher will be an experienced teacher and have a strong understanding of how children learn. They will be confident in how to support children with a wide range of needs and be able to support other staff to overcome barriers to learning. Our SENDCo will be part of the senior leadership team, enabling them to contribute to the wider school.

Our school is a popular and thriving one-form entry school in the heart of Colnbrook village. Our Christian values permeate the life of our school as we encourage everyone to live out our vision and be “Strong and Courageous”. We are proud to be a highly inclusive school and we welcome families from a large number of backgrounds and communities. Our school is part of the Slough and East Berkshire Multi Academy Trust (SEBMAT) and we enjoy high levels of support and close collaboration with other local schools.

We would like someone to join our team who:

  • Models and promotes our school’s Christian values;
  • Has an ability to foster effective relationships with pupils, parents, class teachers and stakeholders;
  • Has the drive and vision to further develop our Resource Base;
  • Is an experienced qualified classroom teacher or existing SENDCo;
  • Has experience of working with children with a wide range of special educational needs;
  • Has a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice in relation to both mainstream and resource base settings;
  • Has leadership experience or is an aspiring leader.

We can offer:

  • Dedicated SENDCo time out of the classroom;
  • Tailored CPD and opportunities to develop your career across the Trust;
  • A mindful approach to teacher workload;
  • A well-resourced and forward-looking school;
  • The opportunity to be a part of the school’s senior leadership team.

Our website has a wealth of useful information, as well as a short video that gives a flavour of our school. Visit www.colnbrookprimary.com to find out more. Applications should be made through My New Term.
