At Chesterton Primary School, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to play a valued role in supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. Working closely with teachers, this role focuses on supporting individuals and small groups, adapting activities to meet diverse needs and helping every pupil to participate, progress and feel included. Alongside contributing to planning and providing feedback on progress, the postholder will support pupils’ social and emotional development, creating a positive and nurturing environment. We are seeking someone who is practical, attentive and committed to high expectations, with a genuine belief that every child can achieve.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups, including pupils with SEND or additional needs
  • Deliver and adapt planned learning activities under teacher direction, promoting inclusion and independence
  • Assist with monitoring, recording and reporting pupils’ progress and behaviour
  • Provide personal, social and emotional support, including wellbeing, behaviour and care needs
  • Contribute to a safe, positive learning environment and build effective relationships with pupils, staff and families
