About this Role
We are seeking a dedicated and
skilled Academic Tutor with strong Mathematics knowledge to support pupils
within our specialist SEND school. The successful candidate will work with
pupils with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), delivering
targeted academic support to improve progress, confidence, engagement, and
attainment.
The role will focus on three key
areas:
Accelerating progress for pupils whose
learning has stalled, through personalised intervention and
bespoke teaching approaches.
Providing challenge and enrichment for
pupils who demonstrate mathematical aptitude,
enabling them to extend their skills and achieve their potential.
Re-engaging learners who may be
reluctant, anxious, or disengaged from education,
using creative, motivating, and relationship-centred approaches.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral
staff, and senior leaders, the Academic Tutor will help remove barriers to
learning while promoting independence, resilience, and positive outcomes.
